Banwell 'A' were in a position that they were safe from relegation but unable to achieve a position in the top three
Just as well, as they went down on two rinks and drew on the third
The weather was atrocious, which did not help
Note: The game was terminated after 11 ends owing to the weather

Result: Banwell 'A' 22 shots ( 1 Point ) - Bloomfield 'A' 44 shots (11 Points )

Rain, Wind and a general miserable day did not help with this result.
Two rinks went down with identical scores, which left Darrell Johnston
and his rink to pick up the two points. This result takes Banwell down
to the lower half on the league table, but they remain well away from the relegation zone
Result : Banwell 'A' 58 shots ( 2 Points ) - Portishead RBL 'A' 68 shots ( 10 Points )

Well, an interesting game to say the least. Banwell stormed off at the start and looked to be on course for a comfortable win.
By the 10th end Banwell were some 16 shots up and winning on all 3 rinks
But Bristol 'A' started the long comeback with the result that the game ended in a draw
But a good result anyway
Result: Banwell 'A' 55 shots ( 5 Points) - Bristol 'A' ( 7 Points )

A really good win win over a top team. But the interesting factor was that all three rinks left it to the last moment
On Rink 1 J.Davies and his rink were were 4 shots down on the 19th end but picked up 4 shots in the last two ends to draw.
On Rink 2 D.Johnston and his rink were 3 shots down on the 19th end but picked 3 shots on the last two ends to draw.
On Rink 3 M.Davies and his rink were 4 shots down on the 19th end, but picked up 6 shots on the last two ends to win

A good result all round, with two rinks dominating their game and a nip and tuck struggle on the third.
Mike Davies and his rink had a comfortable win as did Darrell Johnston and his rink, although they did drop
a 6 on the 12th end, only to pick up a 5 on the 15th end.
John Davies and his rink had a right old struggle
and despite dropping a 6 lost out on the last end
An excellent result all round.

Bowls is a funny old game, the 'B' team had a stunning win last week, but this week the wheels fell off the wagon
and we went down very heavily. But despite the continuous rain, the game ending after 11 ends, and the league reverting to 4 relegation
teams, we had done enough during the season to stay up. Well done lads a momentous and successful struggle.

A good win at the right time for the 'B' team who were too close to the relegation zone for comfort.
Winning on all three rinks the 'B' team picked up maximum points.
The only point for discussion is the number of teams to be relegated - is it three or four?
Time will tell

Mal Laycock and his rink picked up our one point on the day
*Note: Jimmy Laurent and his rink were playing against 3 players
from Clevedon 'B' who dropped 25% of their score

What a funny old day, with the Red Arrows, Spitfires and Hurricanes roaring around in the skies above us,
we managed to pick up 10 points, but only just. Phil Villis and his rink were 21 shots to 4 up on the 15th end
and then just stopped. Likewise with Alan Vickery and his rink who were 18 to 6 up on the 9th end and they also
ground to a halt. But the 21 ends came at just the right time, and with Kim Burgess and his rink keeping in
touch, we won the game by 4 shots - a hard earned 10 points

A warm pleasant afternoon, but not the best of results for the 'B' team's first match.
The only redeeming feature was the winning rink skipped by Alan Vickery,
who picked up Banwell's 2 points. The other two rinks were well beaten on the day.
At the moment Banwell 'B' are sitting at the bottom of the league
Result: Banwell 42 shots ( 2 Points) - Clevedon Prom 87 shots (10 Points)
