John Davies and his rink took control early on in the match ahd achieved a good win.
On the other rinks it was a different story - Phil Villisand his rink came from behind picking
up 11 shots on the last 4 ends to win by 2shots.
But alas it was not to be a winning day for Chris Wilson and his rink who were
well beaten on the day, dropping a 7 and two 6's on the way .

A close game throughout with the lead changing hands all the time
Phil Villis and his rink stormed into a commanding lead but stuttered to a halt only picking up 3 shots in the last 6 ends
but emerged winners by 6 shots. Chris Wilson and his rink after a quiet start kept their noses in front for a win
And on the other rink the game could have gone either way. A good 'A' team win on the day

Talking points were that: John Davies and his rink were nip and tuck throughout
the game but eventually went down by 6 shots.
Graham Millard and his rink were stuck on 6 shots for 9 ends and never recovered

Graham Millard and his rink once again moved smoothly towards a win despite dropping a 5 on the 16th end.
Chris Wilson and his rink were nip and tuck all the way through but picked up 5 shots on the last 4 ends to win
While on rink 1 Phil Villis and his rink had very little trouble to achieve a fine win

A Good away win , with Graham Millard and his rink performing well.
Chris Wilson and his rink pulled back enough shots in the last quarter
of the game to ensure that Banwell took the match points.
In the meantime Phil Villis and rinks fought a hard match for a well earned draw

This was always going to be tough game. Portishead 'A' were top of the table and unbeaten
in the season, and this is the way it stayed.
Rink 1 were actually in the lead at the 16th end and then stopped scoring.
Rink 2 were 2 shots in the lead but dropped a 3 on the last end to lose by 1 shot
It was a good game but Banwell came away with nil points

A remarkable win for Alan Vickery and his rink,
they were 8 nil down after 2 ends and trailed until the 13th end.
They then picked up 3 fours in the final 7 ends to achieve a fine win

Although this result shows us winning 70 shots to 50 which gives us 11 points to 1,
the official result issued by the county shows us winning 70 shots to 60 ( 10 Points to 2 )

A fine victory by John Rickerty and his rink pulled this game through for the 'B" team.
Alongside them Chick Coffin and his rink struggled to make any headway getting stuck on 10 shots for 7 ends,
while KIm Burgess and his rink were sailing serenely when they hit rocks and dropped 11 shots over 4 ends

Banwell 'B" were beaten by a stronger Clevedon 'B' side on the day.
The most newsworthy event took place on rink 2, where Alan Vickery
and his side were 18 - 6 up on the 14th end. And then the wheels fell off !!!
